Nautical drama completely captured, Thomas Kinkade’s “The Guiding Light” hangs easily, wrapped around a deep, hardwood stretcher bar. We’ll let him tell you all about it:

Inspiration can be thought of as both profoundly spiritual and deeply human. The Guiding Light, first in my Lights of Inspiration series, speaks to the dual nature of inspiration. This brilliant sunset penetrates the swirling storms that sometimes afflict our soul, reminding us that the deep emotions of hope and faith are a truer reflection of our spiritual nature than any doubt or turmoil can be.

This radiant light works in concert with the towering clouds to create a sunset that is among the most luminous and dramatic I have ever attempted to capture on canvas. The long, narrow canvas is perfect for those settings in the home that call for a panoramic vision. Surely, this dramatic panorama of light can carry the viewer's imagination to sweeping distant vistas.

About the Collection
At the very beginning of his artistic career, Thomas Kinkade put his entire life savings into the printing of his first lithograph. Though at the time he was already an acclaimed illustrator, Thom found that he was inspired not by fame and fortune, but by the simple act of painting straight from the heart, putting on canvas the natural wonders and images that moved him most. It was this dedication and singular-minded focus on the goal of Sharing the Light™ that made Thomas Kinkade, a simple boy with a brush from the small country town of Placerville, California the most collected living artist of his time. Thomas Kinkade, known as the “Painter of Light,” loved to share his passion for art and his creative process with other artists throughout his career. Thom believed in supporting artist development and exchanged ideas with artists. Through this collaborative environment, Thom passed down his methods and imparted the techniques, concepts, and vision for his signature Kinkadian style. Today, the artists of the Thomas Kinkade Studios apply many of the same techniques created and used by Thom during his lifetime, from sketching to digital and oil brushwork, to image recapture and his use of light. Over time, these mastered skills have evolved into a Kinkadian style of art adored by art collectors around the world. ShopHQ is proud to partner with Thomas Kinkade Studios in sharing beautiful art and home décor products with its viewers. Capture the beauty and tranquility of one of the most popular artists in the world and display one of the masterpieces in your home.
