What is a SmartLabel?

A SmartLabel is a prepaid return shipping label. Using a SmartLabel to return your item to ShopHQ is easy and convenient. Simply affix the label to your return package containing the item(s) and a completed return form. Leave the package in your mailbox or take it to any US Postal Service drop off location. Since the label is prepaid, you will pay no upfront postage. When your return is processed, the return postage cost will be deducted from your refund. The cost associated with using a SmartLabel varies depending on the weight of the package.

  • For packages weighing less than four pounds, the SmartLabel fee is $6.99
  • For packages weighing four to eight pounds, the SmartLabel fee is $8.99

There is no address printed on the label, but the barcodes include information about the destination. The label will automatically route your package to ShopHQ. Also, the SmartLabel is an insured method of delivery so there is no need to purchase additional insurance or delivery confirmation.

How do I use a SmartLabel?

To return your item using the SmartLabel, simply follow these easy steps:

  1. Complete the ShopHQ Return Form located on the back of your invoice and include it with the merchandise you are returning.
    • If you need a new Return Form, one can be printed here
  2. Repackage your return, ensuring all instructions, warranties, parts and accessories are included.
  3. Cover or remove any old labels and use packing tape to securely close the package.
  4. Attach the SmartLabel to the outside of your package.
  5. Drop your package at any U.S. mail location – at home, at work, in a mailbox or at a Post Office. Since the postage is pre-paid, there is no need to wait in line or pay any up-front postage

Please ensure that your item is postmarked for return within 30 days of the date you received it. Allow 15 business days from the date you sent the package back to ShopHQ for the return(s) to be processed and the credit or refund to be issued to your original method of payment.

How do I get a SmartLabel?

If your shipment contains a SmartLabel, it can be found on the front of your invoice in the lower left hand corner. Please be aware that not every ShopHQ order contains a SmartLabel. Only items sent with a SmartLabel should be returned with a SmartLabel. Both our standard return label and the SmartLabel are pre-addressed and contain bar codes but there are differences between the two, both in appearance and how they are used.

Do I have to use a SmartLabel?

ShopHQ includes SmartLabels as a convenient and affordable method of return but you are welcome to use whatever return method you prefer. If you prefer to return a package without using the SmartLabel, simply follow the steps listed below:

  1. Complete the ShopHQ Return Form located on the back of your invoice and include it with the merchandise you are returning.
    • If you need a new Return Form, one can be printed here
  2. Repackage your return, ensuring all instructions, warranties, parts and accessories are included.
  3. Cover or remove any old labels and use packing tape to securely close the package.
  4. The return address may vary by shipment. Please use the guidelines below to ensure that your package is addressed to the appropriate warehouse.
    • If there is a pre-addresses “Postage Required” label included on your invoice, you may use it to return your package.
    • If there is a SmartLabel included in your package, there will be no pre-addressed label. Simply follow the SmartLabel return instructions.
    • If you no longer have the original box or are unable to locate the return shipping address, please contact customer service by email at customerservice@ShopHQ.com or by calling 800-676-5523.

For your protection, when returning merchandise without a SmartLabel, we suggest you insure the package and purchase tracking services. Save the shipping receipt for your records. Only merchandise shown to be received by our warehouse(s) can be credited.
