King-Werk Limited Edition "Deutschland Pewter Eagle" Handcrafted Stoneware Stein
Regal style to serve up your favorite beverage. Handcrafted in the tradition of classic German "steinkrugs," the black mug is covered with sculptured artwork celebrating the symbols of Germany. Made in Germany.
Designed in a unique belly shape, the stein is constructed with three-dimensional lozenges as seen on Bavaria's flag, while the sides feature ornamental artwork. At the center of the mug is a pewter eagle, as seen on the German flag. Gold-tone accents frame the eagle. The stein is topped with an ornate, three-dimensional pewter pointed lid decorated with edelweiss flowers, hops, malt, and Clydesdales pulling a beer wagon.
The limited edition, hand painted stein is individually numbered by the painter - only 10,000 of this stein were created. Each stein is signed on the base by the modeler and painter.
Measures 5.75"L x 4.5"W x 10"H. Weighs 2.20 pounds. Holds 0.50 liters. Made of stoneware. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Founded in 1949, King-Werk is a family-owned business that practices the centuries old craft of stein making. Located in Germany's Western Forest, many King-Werk steins are based on antique designs. In the early 1500s, Germany established laws requiring that all food and beverage containers be covered to protect their contents, in reaction to several fly invasions and the bubonic plague. In response, easy-open "steinkrugs" were created with the lid, hinge and thumb lift combined. Created by skilled craftsman, you can carry on a European tradition with your own artful King-Werk stein.
